Hohm Family

About a year ago, one of my roommates, Julia, and I heard that the church we grew up at had hired a new youth pastor and that he was going to be doing amazing things for the student ministries. Before we knew it, we were having coffee with Jon learning about his plan for student ministries and Julia and I wanted in. We began to lead a life group for 9th and 10th grade girls and it has been a hugeadventure, so much larger than either of us could have anticipated. Over the next few months, Julia and I got to know Jon and his family-- we got to hang out and play Wii with his kids and I got to build forts with Owen and Rayna for four hours a few weeks back. And then in February, Jon, Kelli, Owen, Rayna and the soon to be Paisley picked up their lives and uprooted to Northfield, Minnesota to plant a church with a group of other devoted believers. Before leaving, Jon was talking about listening to the gut feeling that God gives us--the feeling that you're supposed to do something incredibly scary and seemingly unbelievable for God. I can't agree and be humbled more by this lifestyle that they are living out.
I am so happy and excited to share the Hohm family with you.

And finally, us.
I'm starting to get photos with all the wonderful people I work with-I think it's so important to be able to actually see your role as an artist, as a creator with those who you get to photograph and tell their stories.

Check out Canvas Church here and here and get excited about what is going to happen.

The Bro blogged

It's spring break and I'm napping.
Well, I would be if I weren't writing this blog, that's the mode my mind is in now. Nap Mode.
My spring break started Friday afternoon and I have a signed lease for next fall, thousands of wedding photos from Saturday night and am going to the mountains on Wednesday.
Look at all that! (So many more things, but they're not as interesting including the color of my juice, an exam or FOUR, slipper booties etc.)
My spring break conveniently falls on the same break as my brother, Addison's and we're both home two whole days together! We took some handsome photos this morning and then he took me to a movie this afternoon. (I just love me some Liam Neeson) Surprisingly, our garage, siding of the house and neighbors backyard made lovely backgrounds to work with.

PS-If you see Addi on the streets, give him a high five and tell him congrats! He's officially working at Ernst&Young after graduating from Wakeforest in December. Look at me, having a brother with a big, big job.
