MayJean and Cliff Married-Denver, CO

Talk about a whirlwind! I flew out to Colorado for the weekend to shoot my cousin, MayJean's wedding. In a matter of 24 hours I photographed for 12 hours, connected through two airports, had two delayed flights and then went to class. Can you say overhaul?
Oh man was it wonderful though. I got to see family I hadn't seen in almost fifteen years and met Cliff, MayJean's to-be. He is such a wonderful guy!! Everyone who knows the couple can see how perfectly they balance each other!
Its becoming really exciting for me to keep doing this; I'm starting to realize that this isn't just a phase-that I'm still doing this.
Cheers to perseverance and God's good timing!

The two decided to see each other before the ceremony at Washington Park so we got to
take some awesome photos before all the hooplah ensued.

Cliff and MayJean exchanged gifts before the ceremony. Cliff gave MJ
a beautiful emerald necklace that she immediately swapped out to be
able to wear it down the aisle!

And of course, there was the dance party which occurred five minutes
before walking down the aisle!

Alana Marie

So I got to fly out to Denver, CO to photograph my cousin's wedding (post to come soon!) this past weekend. It was so, so wonderful to be able to catch up with family I hadn't seen in forever and just sit around and talk, really. My cousin Ashley and her husband, Chris have been parents for six months to tiny little Alana. Even with a hotel room as our backdrop, these photos turned out adorable!

Baby on the Way!

I feel as if it's been forever since I've been here! Recently, I've been shooting more film than digital, spending hours upon hours in the lab! It's so much more work than I had expected.
So when Ernest contacted me about wanting some tummy pictures of his wife, Sara, I was so excited to be able to shoot digital again and jump back into portraits instead of assignments. I took over 1,000 frames! We barely left the nursery and one of the best parts...I didn't have to use a flash once! Two hips for ambient light! Ernest, the young adult pastor at my home church, Seacoast, and Sara are going to be wonderful, wonderful parents-it was one of those things I could feel just being in their community, their home. By just the photos, you can tell how much of a servant the two are to each other and how their son will be raised.
The world awaits you Wyatt Daniel Smith!
