Baby Lily

Recently I got to take care of a beautiful baby girl the entire weekend. Her parents had some friends come in town and wanted to be able to enjoy the beautiful Memorial Day Weekend without any kids running around. We got to go to the park and read books and all sorts of things.
Here's the blue-eyed beauty.

Belle Hall Elementary Art Fair

About two weeks ago, I volunteered at an art fair at Belle Hall Elementary in Mt. Pleasant. It was so neat to be able to help out with something at this school because I went to school there in first and second grade!
The company that came in, Kids Art Fairs was so awesome! They provide all the supplies, frames, and stands to have an art show for all the kids and a portion of the sales go back to the school's art department. Ms. Hance, the art teacher, was so good to all the parents and kids. She asked me to snap a few photos, so here are some of my favorites!

Changes!

I'm so excited for my photography future!(can I call it that?!) I've started researching some new gear I'm planning on buying and April and May has brought beautiful new possibilities with brides, seniors and springtime weddings under oaktrees I've been booked for! So to go along with all these new photos, I have a new design! Meredith Burwell, the design editor for our school's newspaper is amazing when it comes to anything relating to graphic design. Thankfully, she's going to Savannah College of Art and Design next year. So she helped me design a new business card and masthead for this blog! I'm so excited!

Miss Barry

I've known Katey since the sixth grade when we went to arts school together. She has the most passion and most amazing voice, and I'm glad I'll be able to hear her beautiful singing voice every morning next year since she'll be one of my roommates!
I had the urge to shoot somebody today and ended up getting gorgeous photos while she simply stood on her back porch. She amazes me.


This was the first frame I took. Point proven?






Despite the large sunglare, I love this photo.
I think the glare gives it some extra 'oomph.'

Steinbeck

I did a large research project on East of Eden, by John Steinbeck. The book is now one of my favorites and had a beautiful message which could be summed down to one word, 'timshel.' He explains that 'timshel' is the hebrew word meaning 'thou mayest' explaining that humans have a choice between good and evil. So whenever I think of Steinbeck, I think of my friend Justin wearing a straw hat and raybans-so that's exactly what I did!
